Has anyone ever seen one of these with the hoses coming out of the backsplash? I wonder where the hoses were stored in the cabinet because the 14 series portable, KDS54 that Paul has, requires that bulgy enclosure on the back similar to the one on my KD2P and they don't show that in the picture for this model in this ad.

It's funny how they later reversed the digits for the convertible portable to have the 5 in front of the series number.

Hi Tom, I remember seeing one of these many years ago, but the hoses were missing.
It looks like the KD-25 is a free-standing version of the KD-10 that was pimped up to be connected like an auto washer, with optional casters. I imagine that a free-standing dishwasher made the most sense in most pre-war housing, since this model pre-dates the big suburban housing developments of the mid-50's. This model became the KD-26 in the KD-11 series.
In 1959, the KD-12 version (KD-52) was promoted as a "Convertible-Portable" at a time when all the manufacturers were jumping on the portable dishwasher craze. It featured that hose enclosure you mention.
That feature lasted into the KD-56 models until they changed to the wrap-around cabinet.
