Interesting that the automatic equalizer feature is in the two left legs of the machine. Whirlpool's similar feature was in the two rear legs where it would seem to make more sense from an accessibility standpoint.

Self Leveling Feet O Left Two Feet
Interesting thought Tom, I wonder if WP had a patent that kept other companies from having this feature on the rear feet of an automatic Washer.
GE FF washers got this great feature by the later 60s, and several other TL washers used it in the many years that followed.
We always thought it a shame that MT DC washers never got this feature as it would have saved 10s of thousands of service calls for Maytag and lots of dissatisfied owners.

This feature was one of many that Maytag should have added but didn't.
F&P topload dryers have self-leveling rear legs, their washers don't.
