The Hoover 565
My Mum had the model below this one, without a heater. It was huge and from memory and quite noisy. The machise was made by Hoover at Moorebank Sydney. We had a 200 gallon off peak gravity fed hot water tank that sat in roof void abve the laundry. this would supply Mums Saturday washing needs.
We had to use the suds save because the septic tank would overflow if too many washes and dishwasher cycles were done between pump out visits. They went to Sydney Water mains sewer in 1995.
The suds saver was let the washing water fill the laundry tub and then REMEMBER to drag the drain hone into the tub bypass hole at the back of the laundry tub before the rince drains and floods teh laundry & kitchen.
To get the water back into the machine (no clothes in the washing machine) you spun the dial around to the last part of the gentle cycle spin, put the drain hose into the laundry tub and started the spin cycle. The drain hose burped and bubbled a bit. the cycle finished and the wash water from the laundry tub would syphon back into the machine. You then top up with HOT water, add some deteregent and clothes and start the cycle. Mum would reuse the wash water twice and then send it to the septic tank.
