OK, I'm stumped by this one. A Frigidaire with a control panel that looks like a Whirlpool, and the "GMH value-priced at 189 gns.". A foreign ad maybe, but references US testing and uses the US dating format of May 17, 1961 vs 17 May 1961? And no extra U's thrown in there, as in colour. Anyone know where this was published?

A lot of thumpers went down under, so it's probably Australian where gns were still in use.

Love that version of the Sudssaver with the square hook that fits over the tub to pump back the hot sudsy wash water.

The lid hinge is the one on the much older WO -65's. Interesting!

Thats definitely an Aussie Ad. It was 1966 when we moved to Dollars and Cents.

We had huge import tariffs on most things up until the 80's, generally we seemed to end up with previous generation production equipment so our appliances were quite often a generation behind.

As an aside, it was the same for Cars, we ended up with the Vintage Toyota Avalon in AU after that model production had ended in the US in the early naughties. The US shipped the presses over to us and we got a horribly out of date car that funnily didnt sell :)
