This is the washing machine that awakened my love for washing machines when I was 5 years old. My favorite Aunt had a matched set of Westinghouse slant fronts just like this ad. I still think they have a beauty in their simplicity.

I know many think they didn’t extract well enough due to the somewhat slow spin speed. But I know my Aunt loved hers. And she had 3 kids and washed several times a week for 10 years with this machine, never had a repair, sold them with the house and the new owners used them for years too.

If I ever had a vintage set, these would be it.

I, too, had an aunt who had these machines. When I was a little kid, my family lived in an apartment complex, and occasionally, my aunt would invite my mom over to do laundry; we made a day out of it.

BTW, can anyone explain the difference between an L-6 and an LB-6?
