I have never seen anything like this, what year were these made? It looks very interesting, any members have one of these?

The dryer is a 1961 Lady Kenmore. These are very rare. I don't know of any here in the club right now at all. John L. has mentioned how rare these are as well.

This I believe was the debut of the tall control panel that was used in the 1962 800/Lady Kenmores (which is also a very rare model), the 1962 70-series, and the alphabet 1963 700s.

My Mom seems to have a vague memory of these when they shopped for the '61 70-series machines they bought. She said they were glamorous and fancy, but expensive and out of their budget for what they could do vs. the 70-series machines.

1961 Sears!

1961 was Sears 75th anniversary, they introduced several appliances that year that were very unique, the washer and dryer, and the Lady Kenmore Whispertone vacuum, this had the distinction of being the first L shaped powerhead, along with having a pistol grip hose, a first in the industry, also, was the quietest vacuum on the market at the time, and also was a two speed machine!

Friends of ours had one. They had money's mammy by the tit as is said down south or were "ongestopt mit gelt" to borrow from another language. It was just a time/temp auto dry system with a small dial on the back of the machine to set your dryness preference. I only saw it from across the room and was supposed to be talking to the wife so I only glanced at it, but it seemed sorta grand. It was not until I saw an owner's manual that I understood what the tablets (think 10 commandments) on the control panel did.
