Reading the cycle description, it's like no one over here had heard of soaking in cool to warm water followed by a hot wash and if the soil was that heavy, would not a change of water help between the soak and the wash? Would the red and white parts of the uniform really be washed together? Maybe the emphasis was on enzymes and color safe oxygen bleaches for colors and chlorine bleaching for whites. I wonder if the "Enzyme" detergents packed enough of an enzyme dose to be as effective as the enzyme presoak products. It was a wild time and Sears never missed a chance to label any cycle "Enzyme," if possible, to hitch their washers to the enzyme bandwagon.

The prewash period agitates for 4 mins (or 2 if selected manually), then presumably drains and spins before proceeding into Normal. Triple dispenser adds fresh detergent for the wash, user puts detergent directly into the basket at the start for soak/prewash.
Does the LK pushbutton timers always have Enzyme Soak or Pre-Wash proceed through Normal, or can they be somehow selected to run the functions and stop? Some 800-series of the time had a switch to select Soak & Wash or Soak Only. Granny's KM 70 had the separate Enzyme Soak/Prewash which shut off at the end for the user to then run the desired full cycle.
