$10,000 in cold cash. That was a lot of money in 1959. You could probably buy several cars with that money. My 1964 Mustang cost $2557 new and is now valued at $16,500. So I bet a 1959 car was a lot cheaper than $2557.
Also I remember the Ice Ejector kit shown in the ad. My late dad was a traveling Frigidaire salesman so he drove GM cars and we had Frigidaire appliances in the house. Our 60's model fridge had one of these ejector kits. The rectangle ice container sat in the railing inside the freezer door. You would take the steel ice cube tray, turn it over and place it on top of the container. You would then pull up on the ejector handle and the ice would come out of the tray.
