We had one of the WCDATN machines. It had the stupidest speed combinations I can imagine. You had a choice of Normal with the highest speed spin and agitate. The Durable Press setting gave a slow agitate and a fast, but not the fastest, spin and Delicate was slow agitate and slow spin. The slow agitation with that cone-shaped agitator did not move stuff worth a damn. Think slacks and stuff that do not really need gentle agitation. Fortunately, something was wrong with it that could not be fixed so we got the another model without the fast spin. It was one of the Gold Crown models with a window in the lid. It had 4 speed settings; the above three plus Wash 'n Wear. That provided the fast agitate and slow spin setting.

Are These Machines Prior to the 1-18 Models
Considering that one of these machines offered a 1,000 rpm spin, aren't they prior to the 1-18s? I believe they would be Rollermatics.

Nice Consoles . . .
I like these, IMO probably the last good looking design offered by Frigidaire. I just can't stomach the 1-18 consoles with odd little swatches of fake wood sprinkled here and there, they look so overdone.

What made Firgidaire "a machine I disliked":
The later 1-18 panels also had the knobs allotted to LITTLE space if they had a LOT of functions, and too MUCH space if there were only a FEW functions...
That is: the MORE a knob did, the less space it was given... I cite the water level controls as an example, whereas speed & temperature controls (or Fabric Selector, controlling the W/L & Temp.) were given the right amount (or sometimes excessive) space...

WHICH FRIGIDARE WASHER
I have the Rapididry model and it is my favorite machine in the W Va house. It doesn't use that much hot water and does a great job extracting water. Mine was modified with the addition of a 1962 three ring agitator so overall it works better than my wonderful WO-65.
