This was when Kitchenaid dishwashers were definitely King of dishwashers. They had what no other dishwasher did, a spray arm somewhat like dishwashers of today. Most of the rest had impellers in the bottom and the machines and had to be loaded in a circular pattern. Frigidarie had the roller spray that had to be carefully loaded too. Neither cleaned as well as a Kitchenaid. Even with just one spray arm the Kitchenaid did a good job when plates were loaded on the bottom so that spray could still get up to the top rack through the openings between the plates. They also were the only dishwasher with forced air drying.
