We have the dryer. It is almost silent in operation. It needed 2 new Calrod heating elements which we did not have, but John had a couple of Radiantube elements for a Filtrator. Everything was OK except they were a little to long, so he bent curves into them to reduce the length. Now, when it is running and the load is small enough so that you can peek in and see the heating elements, they look like some sort of orange neon sculpture.

That Hotpoint washer would spin at 1140 RPM for 9 minutes, you almost wouldn't need a dryer! Just a good set of lungs, blow on the clothes while removing them from the washer and you're done!

Was this GE design-model washer ever sold under the Hotpoint name?

Here is the pic I took of that dryer at the convention in Maryland.

Burger King

Interesting that this dryer uses Calrod elements-I was just reading a book about the history of hamburger restaurants, and the origional Burger King restaurants used a broiler featuring Calrod elements to cook the meat-I guess if they cook burgers they would dry clothes!
