Apex in the mid 50's had some interesting and attractive machines. Their washer design and action was certainly much different than anything before and did at least an adequate job of washing, rinsing and spinning out clothes with not much water usage. Along with that was the plus of how entertaining it was to watch it through the glass lid. Their dishwashers were adequate too, for an impeller machine and you could watch most of them too through a glass lid. I personally never owned either of them, but have seen one of the washers before and several of the old dishwasher/sink units that were in homes built around that era.

Disposable Vacuum Bag??

I never would have thought that this awful idea would have been introduced so early!

Those folks were interested in VALUE, not throwing away money every time the vacuum needs emptying!

The dishwasher was absolutey adorable, but was a dissapoinemnt in the performance department compared to others of the time. The Apex Wash-a-matic washer is an extremely fun machine to have and performs quite well. The fiberglas tub helps keep the water very hot and modern HE detergents work very well in this machine. It also puts on quite the show to watch, like a Kelvinator or Frigidaire.
