Hey All,
That washer looks really nice but don't know that much about them, and have no experience with them. Was wondering if they had good reliability, if they washed well, gentle on fabrics....etc. Didn't see many of them at all growing up. Is that a light at the top of the console? Does anyone here have a model of this in their collection? Just about the only time I ever saw them regularly was on the game show "Price Is Right" back in the day. What was Gibson's strong point in appliances? Don't find any videos of the machine on YouTube.

Just wondering.

No experience with this washer. But it's a WCI product, which is not exactly a good sign.

I've had experience with the WCI Frigidaire design. It did not impress me with its washing ability, although I got by OK. (It helps that my laundry demands are mostly freshening, rather than dealing with really dirty clothes.)

80s Gibson W&Ds

I can't think of a worse washer in modern times, and the dryer almost makes the washer look good, I remember installing a new Gibson dryer and when we pushed the start button the entire dryer shimmed across the laundry room, our customer replaced that dryer in less than two years with a TOL WP LHE9800, she couldn't believe how good a dryer could be after that Gibson.

I'm glad I asked, well I guess that machine was not the one to collect!!!! LOL. Thanks for all the input though. I wondered from time to time which brand would be considered "dreaded" and now I know!! "Price Is Right" must have had an exclusive on the brand for a while! LOL.

Thanks, Barry

I guess that machine was not the one to collect!

That, I guess, depends on what one is looking for in a collectible...

It would undeniably a poor choice for someone looking for a collectible that would also be a daily driver.

But I have to admit that if I had a big enough collection, I might be tempted to include a few lemons...
