Very nice Kenmore washer from the 50's. That same basic mechanism served Whirlpool/Kenmore for many many years. It was part of what made Whirlpool the leader of the appliance industry. Tide really seemed to have things sewn up with washer manufacturers back then. I always thought Tide a good high sudsing cleaner, but corrosive to the machines and gunk tended to really build up after a period of time.

I'm assuming the model shown in the POD is not a Lady Kenmore; but wasn't the first LK's console similar to the one shown?

Clogged Drains?

Mom used to use Bold 3 before switching to Tide. But when the drain for the washer clogged, a friend suggested that dry detergents clogged drains, and the switch to liquid was made. I remain skeptical of that claim to this day, maintaining that those dry granules dissolve, and therefore aren't going to clog anything. Perhaps it could be a problem if too much detergent is used?
