I'd like to meet that paper napkin! and her milliner.

Don't know that I've ever seen a Kelvy in person and haven't seen ANY Kelvinators in this neighborhood ever. The only person I BELIEVE that had a Kelvinator, was an Aunt in Larchmont NY. Aunt Grace and Uncle George had a laundry pair in their garage circa 1961, a solid-tub machine that had a bizarrely-shaped squat black agitator (only now from AW do I understand how that thing moved)and the only washer I ever remember having a glass porthole in the lid. I thought I remembered it as a Hamilton(another washer I'd never even seen a picture of until here), but now I'm not sure. I remember seeing her machine and thinking that someone must have enjoyed, as I did, watching the machine spin. Were they rare?

Kelvinator!

This Kelvinator in picture of day has a different type of adj top than I have seen on the others. Did these models still use the rubber fins? Does anyone know? It does look like a beauty.

What a Test - Even Better than a Crystal Chandelier Dipped i

The bottom of the ad copy mentions this as being a 1960 model. I'd love to know more about the "paper" napkin used in this test. Yeah - I'll just bet-! I doubt the napkin could survive more than 5 seconds, let alone 5 minutes-! And Bondyne-? Boy, there's a new one in the world of man-made fabric trademarks.

What was it with Kelvinator and their ads full of gay symbolism????!!!!! First it was the butch housewife torn between overalls or a frilly dress. Now we have a little boy in a Little Lord Fauntleroy outfit being called a "gay sprite", with all the references to "deep turbulence"!!!! (The hilarious paper napkin bit is just a distraction from the meaty psycho-sexual symbolism lurking just below the surface.) Mad Men indeed!!!!
