OK, I know I sound aweful, but my favorites in the ad were the yellow spacemates sxs as well as the Deluxe turqoise laundromat & dryer. Who can tell me waht the Color Guide controls were? Robert, I believe you have the washer, but it wassn't connected at the convention.

westy space mates

Hi Bob, This was a nice treat the westy space mates were my childhood washer ours were white. This was the dryer Bob Wirth once e-mailed me about, and i believe someone in the club obtained from him, This dryer was mounted upside down on the washer. for side by side use the dryer was flipped right side up and you flipped the chrome panel, so it had the westinghouse W. right side up. also the chrome "clothes dryer snapped off, so you could flip it right side up. Bob told me this was the only dryer ever designed to use upside down, when mounted above the washer. I remember this flipping situation, when the laundromat finally gave up, my dad "flipped the dryer" to go with a new top loading washer. Thankyou to the donor of this pic of the day,I did save this one to a folder.

sorry for long post. LOL one last thing, the dryer did not have a lint screen. the lint went right out the vent with the exhaust. I guess because of the optional mounting design. the dryer lasted until the mid seventies the washer died out in the mid sixties. This laundromat, or the one we had seemed to wear the boot between the door and drum. I remember them having it replaced several times never a flood. just a drip, at that time my parents laundry was in a kitchen. Those moms are pretty creative, when it was boot replacement time she slipped a cookie sheet under it and kept right on a washing. thanks for the trip down memory lane alr2903.

color guide controls

Bob i thin the color guide control may have been just different color shades on the timer dial. The guy that got the pink and turquoise stack set, from Bob w. was a tol machine and maybe a year or two later than sept 9 pic of day. I think his has the dial with the shaded cycle markings and other knobs as well. ours was one dial only on the washer, just as the pod. Bob hope you are well. art.
