Of all the washers shown in the pic of the day, which one would you pick for your daily driver?
Think I'd either pick the Norge or Whirlpool.

Oh, those were the days of American designed and built machines.

I’d take a Whirlpool or Kenmore belt drive since those machines are simpler compared to most other designs of the era. I believe Maytag still had AMP style of machines in 1956 and 1957 and 1958 is when they came up with the design they kept in their short tub washers all the way up until the early 2000’s with a couple of variations in the design.

My pick would be either the RCA-Whirlpool (love that control panel — so stylish and elegant) or the Sears Kenmore (the year before the first every Lady Kenmore was introduced, with the SAME machine).

And the Norge Time-Line gets honorable mention as well.

interesting that frigidaire is noticeably absent from the list of machines. I wonder why? Too many suds with Tide and the frigidaire up and down action? LOL

No Frigidaire washers at that time handled huge amounts of suds with little to no issues so more likely it is that General Motors had no desire to partner with P&G for advertising.
