POD-Appliance Store

That picture reminds me of a very popular appliance store in the "Little Five Points" area of Atlanta called "Sharps". They have been gone for a long time--a bar and restaurant now occupy the space, but back in their haydays, Sharps sold many Atlantans their Frigidaire and Maytag products. They were very popular among young and struggling families as they would let you set up an account and pay on the appliances a little bit at a time---whatever you could afford that month, untill you got it paid off. (Atlanta Gas Light Co. did the same thing with Maytags, and many a struggling Atlanta family in the '50s and 60's paid them $3.00 or $5.00 a month untill they got them paid off!) Ahhhh those were the days--------
