I have never loaded cookware into a mid-50s Hotpoint like this (there were too many dishes), but I don't understand how that Revere Ware saucepan could get cleaned in that position unless it only was used for boiling non-starchy vegetables.

Eddie, because of the detergent dispenser that sometimes worked, Hotpoint was the only dishwasher that gave two washes and it was highly rated. They could be rough on motors though because the drive shaft for the impeller came up through a tube with no bushings, seals or bearings to prevent moisture from getting down to the motor and the screw that went down through the impeller would rust after years of use so you could not remove it to replace the motor. I was surprised to find the one working in the house in 1968 when I visited, but they had help so I am quite sure that lots of dishes were washed by hand over the years.
