The fun of FF AND full array of dispensers to play with.

I had one of these with the electric bleach dispenser.
I found it in L.A. circa 1987. It was $150 with delivery. Bought at a really scuzzy used appliance store on Van Nuys Blvd most likely in Van Nuys but it might have been further north. The store was so small they had most machines in back and sitting on sunny California sand. I was surprised but then it doesn't freeze there so....

The place was packed with appliances I'm sure all of us here would find
something of interest. I know they had all colors and even some wringers.

The service guy was so pervy. He was eyeing me up like I was candy. I was only 19 and looked like Simon Lebon back then. This was very near Hollywood after all. Even though he and another guy delivered the washer, he didn't get no candy. lol

Fun washer to play with. A couple years later found a way to add a button on the console that would activate the cold water valve so I could add more rinse water during spin. As if these don't use enough water. lol.

Wish I still had it.

We had this washer and the matching dryer in avocado when I was growing up, it was one of the best looking washer and dryers out there, i loved when it was running and the florescent light on the machines lit up the laundry room at night. I wish we still had those machines, they were great.

Black polyknit slacks...

I have not seen those since the 70, they were kind of stretchy and almost indestructable.

This would be a good machine for a single guy who went to the disco a lot, Kenmore might be a better choice for a large family.

these should have been from around 1975-78

when my brother got married and his first house he had purchased the AMERICANA set, I believe they were in Harvest Gold....

it was a big promotion at the time for the Dispens-ALL system and the Mini-Quick 15 minute cycle, and the switch to the left which made the timer run faster....

since when are we allowed to post POD pics in forum threads?

My first thought when I saw these machines at the store was that once you loaded up the lid dispensers, how could you lift the lid without spilling stuff? The dispenser system relied on a little diverter in the filter flo outlet that pivoted to divert water into the dispenser system at two different angles. When these machines were being sold, the no-phosphate detergents were really mineraling up machines and the crud and scuz that formed impaired the functions of the Dispensall system. Yes, they dispenser fabric softener.

It is interesting that GE appended "all" to their garbage disposer to the point that many people call a disposer a "disposall" almost to the degree that "Frigidaire" became synonymous with refrigerator, "Hoover" became a verb to mean "to vacuum" as in carpet. With this device they appended the suffix "all" to another appliance.
