When this POD rotates, I always thing of our own JasonL. "It is the washer of the future". In 2 years they have been washing approx 40 years. We had a 74/75 Pentavane, I always thought it had enough power/action. I do remember people that had experience with std. tub machines and "rotoswirls". It is amusing now but many folks thought the Pentavane/swirl where kind of lazy in the motion department. I remember one co worker in particular that had a pentavane and was on the phone for the "dual action" retrofit the minute she saw it in the catalogue. These new WP/Km large capacity machines made people regret purchasing Maytag HOH dryers years earlier. You almost had to split the load in 1/2 to dry especially with the electric version. alr

Somehow I really hate this ad just because of the three brands chosen to be "the masked avengers", one being the Whirlpool which makes the Kenmore & the General Electric which has had the best washing action up to when Kenmore had the innovated "multi-movement" agitator, kicking off other brands to have invested in this feature...

Well-treated laundry in that Maytag could surely get cleaner than stuff just thrown in--as laundry washed in my Kenmore w/ TRIPLE Action has proven...!

Washerlover, you are correct they were belt drives. As cartoon like as the POD is it accurately depicts the flat/back side of the "D" shaped opening. IIRC, they used 28 gallons of water for ONE fill.

Just wondering why another ad couldn't be issued to depict that Kenmore competing w/ a Frigidaire pulsator agitator, or something from the Norge/Ward family of washers...

If Sears really wanted to get competitive w/ makes boasting better (and BATTERED!) washing action...

Wasn't there an ad made up by Kenmore that compared the action of their DA agitator against the Frigidaire "reciprocating,Jumping Jack" agitator using the "sock test"IE how many tim es was the sock circulated by each washer during its wash and rinse cucles.

Actually Frigidaire made that commercial against the Lady K and the Dual Action agitator. But a member made their own version where the Lady K performed better. It had the song More More More playing in the background. It's been removed for a while which sucks cause I loved that video.

God Bless Andrea True!

Yes, I do remember that ad... The poor ol' Pulsator suffered from Suds-Lok during it...

But surely, a few more brands & various agitator designs were long-depicted as contenders for that top spot in Cleaner Clothes!
