I could never do laundry in pointed shoes! However, with a gas dryer like that, I could stand a little suffering! LOL

My aunt's house has those funky western looking cabinets. I remember how those really stick out especially with the way hers are doone. Pine wood with those black trims. Yikes. Not the kind of mood I'm trying to evoke.

I'm more into the dark panelling, dark wood cabs with avacado or copper. or harvest gold if there's gold pattern wallpaper. Gimme some 70s baby!

My grandmother on my dad's side had a washer just like this one--only her's was in white.

She hated me; therefore, playing with her washer was simply out-of-the-question.

However, I can tell you that the agitator was black--with the top looking more like a Speed Queen.

It did have a waterfall lint catcher. It was cleaned by pulling this horse-brush thing out of the top, rather than hitting a release button and pulling the apparatus out of the machine.

As far as water levels go--there were only two: Low and High.

And I'm not sure about wash/rinse temps. It may be every rinse was automatically cold--but I just can't remember. . .isn't that awful?

But four kids'll do it to your brain everytime!

I know I'm blashpheming here, but I always thought teh tower top and these small WP control "boxes" were so cheap looking simply because there wawsn't a full-width control panel.

Cheap

I suspect the styling of the controls on those machines was meant to evoke the "off-the-shoulder" look that was fashionable in the late 50's. I've seen it in car uphoulstery, too, around that time

I remember as a kid,a neighbor also had a very similar looking washer in white, same control setup, the waterfall lint flter with the see through window and a black surgilator with the chrome cap.

I kinda feel the same way appnut does about WP during this period, this style seemed very bland and BORING.The early slant back models were nicer i thought.

Pointed Shoes

My Mother did EVERYTHING in heels, just like the ladies on TV. One time she slipped in the driveway and broke her arm and she blamed it on the flat shoes she was wearing at the time. Mom is now 77 and still always wears heels-always!
