If my superficial web search is right, hubby is now 71 or 72, so if this ad is 50 years old, he wasn’t that far out of diapers himself!
Which raises the question: How did P&G’s ad agency find these “real people” and how were they compensated? I’m guessing they contacted people who had bought new washers and, I dunno, offered to pay for them in exchange for appearing in a magazine ad, but there would have to have been some vetting procedure to see if they were photogenic enough.
