Today in the house I'm working on I found a couple of pages from the Victoria Daily Times, June 25, 1953 - 2 pages from the "Womens" section complete with ad for a Philco fridge for $264.95 plus 2 pages of classified houses for sale. One of them is an "Uplands Luxury Home and Grounds with seaview" described with oil-o-matic heat and laundry room piped for Bendix. Were/are Bendix's plumbed right in, solid, never to be moved? It's got me very curious.

BTW, it was $5000 down, monthly payments of $150 for a full price of $28,000.

Bendix

was the first automatic on the market. I think was just a way of saying that the laundry room in that particular house had hookups, and a floor suitable for bolt-down installation.

I may be mistaken, but that's what I think.
