Poppy Frigidaire Window Lid for sale

The house I am living in has just been sold, and now I must sell all of my washers! There will be no room for them in my new(much smaller)place..
So hopefully I can find a new owner for my '76 Frigidaire 1-18 window lid. It's in great shape with some spare NOS parts as well. I have a lot of money tied up in it, but at this point I have no choice but to take the best offer on it. I have only 60 days before the move!
(The Harvest Gold Frigidaire set seen in the pic have found a new home and are gone)
I also have a white Maytag 806 from '71 and a 1969 Avocado Whirlpool imperial as well. Oh, and a 1960 Maytag Highlander too!

I was trying to find a 1-18 or rollermatic to use for a daily driver along with my Maytag A606.

A poppy 1-18 is up for sale a few miles south of you, in Angola IN, (Maytagluver selling). I was considering it, I can borrow or rent a truck that far. But now you have the same thing with a window....

Poppy Frigidaire!

That was my favorate color. My Aunt was here tonight and I ran her through the club. She loved this club. She saw this 1/18 and it brought back so many good memories to her. She had a matching Poppy washer / dryer set from 1974 with the console that was slightly older. And hers didn't have the window. She had painted the wall in her basement Poppy to match. We also went through the see it wash vidio and loved watching the 1/18 and said why can't they make washers like that today. She also stated that nothing cleaned like it so through but yet so gentle. Oh well don't we all wish they did today.

That window...

is a wonderful feature to have on the Frigidaire. I have that exact same washer except mine is the Gold Crown Model which means it has a slightly different control panel.
The Poppy Red is definetly a sought after collector color. I have been told that they were only made in that color for two years and that a limited number was produced but I can't quote you any figures. The window lid would definetly be worth the longer drive (fltcoils)

I enjoy mine so much that part of the time I watch it doing the wash with the lid open but it's cool to look through the window also. I can definetly agree with peteski50's aunt that nothing cleans more gently, or thoroughly. Just as they did back in day, I use Tide with my Frigidaire and the results are wonderful. The action of the Frigidaire pumps the suds through the clothes and they come out smelling more fresh and clean than in any other machine I have used.

Captainmoody, do you have a picture of the Whirlpool? Is it a large capacity model or standard?

I'll need to find the thread about using gylcerin in water to condition the bellows seals before first agitating.

joelippard - trainguy, thanks for the poppy 1-18 windowlid welcome.

My wife is supportive in that "he's insane" way. I have crazy ideas about adding a VFD to drive the motor with 70 or 80 or 90 cycles AC and so supercharge the spin rpm, and another idea about adding a box to the outer tub to allow an overflowing rinse...We'll see how they work out.

What year did the consols start to split wash/rinse temperatures?

about the gycerin conditioning of the bellows seals. I've never heard of that and I'd certianly want to do anything I could to prolong the life of those...
