That is a bit spendy considering I see them at estate sales every now and then. The portable units are few and far between, but I did see a GE tabletop model just a month or two ago. I guess that's the appeal of ebay, you don't have to leave your chair to have what you want!

Gave less than $50 for mine, IIRC; and it was an eBay find. Shipping (well packed and crated by UPS/seller), cost more than the unit.

Have a hunch the portable units do not crop up as often as the full sized models as they truly are easier to manage in today's households. Cabinet Ironrites weigh a ton and are hard to ship.
