Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I picked up the dishwasher yesterday. The poor thing was outside waiting for me to pick up. She was a little wet but she traveled well. Manual was inside in a zip lock bag. I cleaned her after work this afternoon and looks brand new.

I found a website yesterday that gives you the month and year of manufacture on appliances from the 60's and up. Per that website, she was made in March of 1974. Pics are attached.

On my initial call, the owners grandson said, it was only used maybe 10 or 15 times. Dealing with the granddaughter on pickup, she didn't say much on the history. More than likely, grandma thought it used more water than washing by hand and if she was the only one in the house, why use it. The owners manual that came with it is also in mint condition.

I will be using it as a backup if my built in Kitchenaid breaks down. (its happen twice so far this year)

After three loads, the Maytag worked fine. No leaks. I attached pics of the last cleaned load. Can't beat that washing arm on top. My partner mentioned that, that's the way clean dishes used to look like when he was growing up in the late 50's 60's. He also said "that's what happens when water is used to clean items." In the end, you save water because you wash it once. Not two or three times.
