For some of yo Maytag RR DW enthusiasts, isn't this the model with three final rinses, versus the more common two final rinses in the newer Reverse Racks??
If anyone is taking a trip from Maine to Tennessee, please pick this up for me!
That's a WC400. IIRC these were made from about 1970 until 1975. This is the early direct drive model. In the 1975 they went to a belt driven pump. These models used 5 fills of water for a "Normal Wash".
1. Prewash
2. Main Wash
3. Rinse 1
4. Rinse 2
5. Rinse 3
I'm tempted, it's not too far away but why couldn't it have been the top loader? When did they stop making the top-loader? IMHO one of the best dishwashers ever made and certainly had the largest capacity of any top-loader every made.
this model, in White. Scrub the chrome off a trailer hitch! Noisy, compared to many of today's dishwashers, but oh, could it clean. Very little rewash, and most loads came out perfectly.
I called the owner and it's still available. I will be taking a look at it next Tuesday after Labor Day. He mentioned that it was only used about 10-20 times. If it looks as good as the pictures show, it will have a new home with me.
I would grab any maytag dishwasher portable in a heartbeat. this seems to be a nice one. My 12 1/2 yr old maytag died 2 months ago. I bought a new whirltag and I hate it if i could get a vintage maytag portable d/w I would sell mine in a heart beat.
The owner called me today to confirm that I still wanted the dishwasher. The grandmother owned it and passed away this year. The family is closing on the house tomorrow (Friday the 31st) She will be making arrangements with the new owners for me to pick it up on Tuesday. She did mentioned that the new owners will be renovating the house and have no need for an "old dishwasher."
Well got the phone call today to pick up the dishwasher on Tuesday between 12noon and 2pm. It will be in the garage. If I'm late, the will wheel it outside of the garage. She found the owners manual (Hooray). I asked her where should I send the check? She said that it dishwasher was old and if I didn't pay for it, it was fine. I told her I would pay the price that she wanted ($25.00) I think I will pay her $30.00 for her trouble and making the arrangements. The dishwasher looks it great condition. I will post pics in the coming week.
Wasn't this one, with the figure 8-shaped filter, the one that originally washed for 18 minutes, with heating, and could present a real glass etching problem?
I'm not really a huge fan of Harvest (its major attraction for me was always the fact that at least it was not - FEH! - Avocado), but it's always nice to see something that has been well cared-for.
Great find!!!!
I have a WC401 that I got on CL for $35.00 with instruction manual. It was used only for holiday gatherings by the original owner. I use it once per week now. (pictured next to my Jrnn-Air DWU9905) Congrats to you!
Hey Sandy! Glad you were able to save this DW.I bet it wasen't used mutch if at all. Are you going to paint it a differant color ? Pictures and maybe a viedo please, when you get a chance of course. People have said that this is quieter than the belt drives of later.
