Porthole detergent dispensers!!

Hi guys!
Just looking the last Indest European model called Moon, which is provided with a porthole detergente dispensers I was sondering whether in past there were some other washing machine using the same features!

Does anyone have some pictures showing a detergent dispensers FL washing machine... quite old !??!

Hi Vivalalavatrice,
I remember candy made a small front loader in the late 70's early 80's not sure of the date with a detergent dispenser in the door.It was call aqua something, similar to the aqua 3 that came out later. I had one about 84 that I found it dumped behind currys electrical store and managed to get my dad to let me bring it home. There was a small jet in the top of the door boot that flushed the washing powder out of the bottom of the door into the machine. the door was a clear light blue colour so you could see the water running through it. I could only get the machine to fill and drain and nothing else. it went to the dump when we moved a few months later. Hope this helps

Built in models prefered "indoordispensers" don't ask me why. Here is german washer ZANKER with indoordispensers. If I'm correct, there was a AEG built in model that had also indoordispensers

The infamous turquoise/blue two-tone "Rustinghouse" coin-op machines from the late fifties into the sixties had a detergent chute above the rectangular window on the door.

No one ever measured detergent in those days-----(except for Frigidaire's rubber cap/measuring cup on top of the detergent column----- which usually could be found tossed into the box of detergent.)And following instructions is a totally un-American activity anyway.
People just poured some Tide, Cheer, Fab, Rinso,Breeze, Duz or whatever in until it "looked like enough" which was usually waaaaay too much as back in the old days all these detergents were extremely high-sudzing!

It was completely normal to peer inside a laundromat full of these things------ barfing sudz out the chute and down the front----- into pools in the floor. (I used to watch many an embarrased housewife re-run the things just to rinse out all the sudz----DUH!)

Oh, those were the days-------.

Steve, It still goes on!!!!

We were without power for 8 hours one day, and I was in the middle of laundry.
I thought it would be fun to go to a very clean mat, and check out the big bad Dexter Front Loaders they had to wash towels.
I thought it would be cool to use there biggest front loader to test it with my big load of towels.
During this time, I was watching this woman start her wash! Oh my! She had these little bags of "Foca" that would have done me good for about a month. This woman actually poured, and poured, and poured the whole bag into the machine during the wash! I was in shock, but of course kept my mouth shut. When it came to the final rinse, she complained of how these washers were not any good because they did not rinse well. Well, did she do a rinse run on these...of course not! Blah!
I also need to comment that I was not impressed with the Dexter wash, not to mention the scam on the dryers. I took them back home, and rewashed the hole load.
So, times have not changed!
