Evening guys,

Thought I should report this to you in case anybody considers bidding. Some of you may recognise that the seller has stolen one of my pictures off this forum (probably to lure the buyer). Should I report this? The information doesnt sound too convincing either as do the telephone numbers.

James.

As an eBay Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
I have many people ripping off photos from my www.dual-reference.ccom website all the time. Sometimes I'll see 10 or 20 of my photos in various Ebay listings. On my website I ask people who are going to do this to at least give me a photo credit.
Some will, but most just tell me to F-- off if it's on the internet, it's free.

I have considered adding some lines of code to my website that will disconnect the right click key on the viewers mouse so they can't do any copying. But I just take it as a compliment that they chose to use one of my photos.

He won't get any phone calls using a Burnley dialling code for a Burton on Trent number will he? Never mind.

Put it this way...

You don't go picking flowers out of someones garden even if they are unprotected and by the footpath? I'm just saying he could have asked that's all. It is my intellectual property afterall. Not making this a rant thread.

James.

"if it's on the internet, it's free"

Sorry but no that isn't the case and is the reason why many stock photographs sites and others have copyrighted their images. They also have staffed up with attorneys and not only can but will drag anyone into court who violates terms of copyright use.

The Internet especially in the early days is more like the wild west with every script kiddie uploading any photograph or similar content they lay eyes on that suits under the theory "it's on the Web so it's free to use", and or "it's only a photograph so stop your whining".

Well someone has to set up, take, crop etc those photographs so people are stealing a person's work. In the case of commercial sites the photographs and or other content are what keep a business or person's butter stuck to their bread.

Stupid fags

<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: x-large;">Christopher if I ever catch you using the word "fag" or any other hate speech on this website again not only will I ban you from ever posting again, but I will block you from ever seeing this site again. </span>

<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: x-large;">Got it, now you owe everyone here an apology. I will be watching for that and expecting it!</span>

Yes, but in this case

He clearly meant it in a derogatory way. That and "That's so gay" are said way too often in society. I have to admit it rubbed me the wrong way too when I saw it. Words are a powerful thing and can make or break people.

There was an apology made, so I will accept it as sincere and move on. Now back to our original topic :-)
