Figured with the incredibly high asking price it would be safe to post this for discussion.
Before folks go and send messages to the seller please remember that the seller made the choice to post these on eB*y with little to no real information on the machines - specifically model number, serial number info, etc. I really doubt the high starting price and lack of detailed information is going to draw much attention to a large crowd of potential buyers. I mean - it is much better than the pink Florida Maytags ;-)
With that being said ...
Very very cool set. I'm having a hard time putting a model number to the washer with the three wash temps/two speeds/four water levels; closest I can come to is an A407 or an A608 but I know neither is correct. The dryer is very much a DG606. The serial number of the dryer is also shown and legible. Decoded as October of '75, which coincides with my previous research on the model tag being placed under the lid of the washer after September of '75.
The set looks to be in fantastic shape with the original Newton shine under the lid of the washer, and the safety sticker on the dryer door. The warning tag is still wired to the dryer exhaust. Would be cool to see this set in person. I can't imagine many are around in this condition!
