A beautiful set
Agree that Maytag "Cordoba Copper" is a very attractive shade, along with GE Coppertone. Much more so than the washed-out brown colors of Frigidaire and D&M. Whoever gets this will be getting something extra nice.

Why don't we all chip in, work the ebay gamble to the hilt and to our advantage, and own the gleaming gems as a club, rotating the set seasonally. We'd have to make an easy-of-transport schedule: the Mid-west has it for 2010, the Eastern Seaboard members have it for 2011, etc.

LOL - Mike I have my sights on other Maytags. I just need to get off my rear and go get them.

Here is an offer for anyone who is seriously thinking about bidding on these...
I sent a message to the seller asking #1 The model & serial numbers of the washer & dryer and #2 What part of LA are they in.
He said he will get the models & serials and post them in the eBay listing soon, but more importantly, it sounds like they are within about TEN minutes from my house.
So now the offer, IF you bid on and win them, I will be happy to pick up and store them (2-3 weeks) to give you more time to arrange for shipping.

This has already been said but I agree - don't think either of these machines have ever been used! I would think that, if anything, all you might need to do is put new belts on and perhaps new hoses on the washer otherwise I think they last and work perfectly for many years even though both are already many years old.
Great find and I think they are worth the price all considered and it's for the set rather each machine individually.

I hope a member gets them. There is so much knowledge here.
Retropia: See the little door on the bottom front of the cabinet? That means the dryer is gas.
I hope who ever gets these at least takes the front off of the washer and does a check. Isn't there a shipping block inside? The tube ring should be saved also.
I would start out with a slow spin, to lube up the bearing. Goatfarmer or RedCarpetDrew should be consulted. Someone with a shop that's been around awhile(the shop not the person, lol) . I'd watch during a full cycle with the front cover off. Watch everything. Someone may get them, that doesn't know what they're doing. They could consult someone on here that could advise. If they get a set of commonly replaced parts, like some bearings and some belts for the dryer, they might be able to extend the life of these machines, possibly beyond their own life. As far as the museum goes, I don't know. Now if they were a set of 806s' or 906s', I'd agree. Does anyone know if there's a museum like that? Maybe just private museums', huh? Like the members on here. lol.

That solves the riddle for me as well as I thought "Tub Block" was a tool used to remove the tub etc...

You will notice to the right of the dryer's console is a "blue flame" to indicate it is a gas dryer.
Not sure when the (electric) water-condenser dryers were dropped---but they had the little door too.

OMG Are you saying this is not a broiler,I've been cooking my steaks this way for years, the smoke exhausts to the outside so the smoke alarm doesn't go off,That explains why all these dogs keep following me around and people say I smell like a ribeye. LOL
