Post Paris Pleasures - Making French Onion Soup

I did a lot of eating while in Paris and enjoyed a number of versions of onion soup. We made a batch when I arrived back home and had a little taste of Paris in Detroit!

Hey Kevin, thanks for the vid and the recipe, it just adds to my collection. I practically grew up with that stuff, only 6 mins from the French border. There are zillions of local alterations but the main thing is THE onion soup. Just great, I am addicted. Besides: "It helps old grandpa to hop on his bike" (is the local saying about the healthy workings of onion-based veggies and garlic as well.)
Always good to have some "cloves" or "onions" in your... pouch *grin*
No kidding: cholesterol is reduced, bloodflow increased, need I say more?

One of my favorite dishes ever, dear wife makes an awesome one. Will give this version a try! So wonderful that you got to experience Paris, Kevin, the best Food & Wine in the world, imho. Was over there 36 yrs ago (1976), and would love to go back again someday.

What!...no Eartha Kitt in the background crooning "C'est Si Bon?" I always wanted a good recipe for French Onion Soup so I'll have to give it a try. Barbra Striesand does a fine early rendition of that song too.
