Our first front load washer was a Christmas gift to my mom from my dad in 1955. It was a Westinghouse Deluxe, and lasted until 1964. I remember it needing to be worked on several times during its life, and would get out of balance and walk rather often. Despite these flaws, my mom wanted another Westinghouse front load machine, so one was purchased. It lasted about as long as the first, but unlike the 1955 model, had developed severe rust issues. It also required service several times. In 1973, mom decided she wanted a new washer and dryer, and wanted something better than Westinghouse. She narrowed it down to Maytag or Kenmore, and decided on the Maytag's. The washer only had two repairs in the 31 years we had it. The first was a motor when it was about a year old, due to a basement flood, and the other a new injector hose kit at about 20 years. I did both of those.

The 1986 Lady Shredmore was the last top loader in the house when I acquired a Fridgemore front loaderin 2006.

Maytags always needed few to no repairs done, the only repairs I had to make to my Maytag A606 set and A806 set was a inlet valve on the Maytag A606 washer, cycling thermostat back in 2020 on the DG306 (now a DG407), wire to the high limit thermostat on the Maytag DE306 5 years ago (now has been transformed into a Maytag DE806), Maytag A806 needed some cosmetic work done (want to repaint the cabinet when the time permits), that’s about it. Can’t really complain too much about those simple repairs and such.
‘Pools and ‘Mores don’t last as long as ‘Tags.

First of all, the lint filter is plugged up. It won't filter if it's blocked.
If the washer is overloaded, the filter will not work properly or at all (depends on the severity of the overloaded condition).
Given all of the lint everywhere, the washer was most definitely overloaded or not properly loaded. Probably severely overloaded.
In nearly 40 solid years of using these washers, I never had towels coming out looking like that...even when new and shed a bit.
This is all 100% user error.

Looks like a stray Kleenex or two made its way into that load of towels. And the filter looks like it needs a good cleaning too. Both would be user errors.
