Same store where I got the avocado Hardwick! If it were a little cheaper, I think I would buy it, it is missing the griddle and I believe it either sat on a base or had legs, other than that and the chrome having some issues, its clean as can be.500.00 is too much without it being complete.

The whole stove!

Does not have ANY burned on grease, very little dirt anywhere, but to make it perfect, the chrome really needs re doing.

It wouldnt bother me...BUT!

The oven and broiler must be match lit, This is not a problem...except where you have to get it inspected, they wont pass it now days,So you would have to spend another 200.00 or so,,I wouldnt though, Im not the least bit afraid of a match lite oven!

$500? that is a lot, and it's something I've noticed at our Habitat store as well..much higher prices lately on stuff. They've had a beautiful condition Inglis wringer washer there for weeks wanting $200 for it. they finally dropped it down to $150 and it's still there. I know it goes to a good cause and I'm a great customer of theirs both buying and donating,, but lately I dunno. Even the vacs are getting over priced and notably the place is getting way to crowded with stuff.

I highly recomend someone here to get this!

It's well worth every penny and then some. I was friends with Mr Charles Rudolf. He was a major Chambers/FRIGIDAIRE/Monarch/MAYTAG dealership. His company is one of the rare dealerships still hanging on by a thread. The sister in law, Ms. Elsie and Charly's three sons, run the business in Parkville, MD.They carried them for decades and boy are these 'bad boys" HEAVY!!! They're made of porcelain on cast iron.If you're interested, you can easily send ANY parts out to the Antique Gas Stove Company in,I think, santa Rosa,CA., where they can FULLY RESTORE AND/OR REPLACE ANY PARTS.I'm positive that there are at least a few folks here who are also familiar with this fabulous company. You may want to visit them on line at(antiquegasstoves.com)just to see a few of the classics they have already fully restored.

Chambers!

My Grandmother had what looks like this one in all white. When they sold the house in 1971 they left it behind. Little did we know they would be worth so much now!
Best Of Luck with it.

Rachel Ray

That looks like the same stove Rachel Ray had and used on here cooking show.

And I don't know that the missing cover is so much a griddle, as the cover for the pop-up broiler. Turn the large handle on the left side the broiler assembly lifts up. Pretty neat actually!

Also, I'm not really into ranges/stoves, but from what I hear about the old stoves, some of these can be worth (or cost) a helluva lot of $$$. Not that I'd want to pay $500 for it, but it's probably worth it, I would think.

somebody get this!!

any colored Chambers is highly desirable. That is a good price. All parts are readily available, and if you Google "Mattera Stove Works" Don M. there is very helpful and knowledgeable. We have 3 Chambers 1950s separates: 2 "In-A-Top" cooktops, 1 42" in stainless and 1 27" in Antique Copper, and a NOS "In-A-Wall" in copper. LOVE them dearly!! There is no substitute.

Hey RevinKevin

The missing part is a griddle for sure. The griddle and broiler are simply above and below, respectively, the same burner, so you can use both at once(carefully).   Chambers did also sell an accessory cover, ribbed, simply to keep the griddle clean and give you a flat surface for use as a countertop.

Prices on the range differ drastically, from $100 or so up to $5K. I got mine for $200, spent about $200 more in getting lost parts pretty quickly from Ebay. Mine shows visual signs of age, but workes perfectly and will outlive me!

Too High!!!!

I thought maybe it was me,but our restore store also has gone crazy on prices lately. They have some good things, but lately alot of junk.I did get a really nice huge Toshiba color set,the largest picture tube made for 60 dollars. Its like brand new. From a cold start its got a sharp bright pic.Washers and dryers are out of sight. They really have too many people working there. Thanks Bobby

Anyone!

Who is interested, come to Mocksville for a visit and I will take you to the store, If it was white, I believe i would try to get it, but blue would be hard to decorate around!

Not too high...

for a Chambers, it's not just any old stove. These suckers weigh almost twice what a normal stove weighs and is built with a quality NO new stove has. I believe this is the exact model and color that Rachael Ray has. Stuff like this is often negotiable anyway, it maybe might be had for, say ,$300-350... if I were not in way upstate NY I'd be all over this like a cheap suit.
