Stains are Gone!

Benzoyl peroxide 10%. I set the dishwasher to pots and pans and used 1 1/2 tablespoons in prewash with an empty load except for the cutting boards. No other detergent was used. Here are some before and afters.

Powerclean

Spacedog - that is a very nice ultrawash (powerclean) you have there! Why isnt that wonderful machine being put to use? -can see from the pic the upper rack is even fully adjustable to adjust for wash arm clearance under the upper rack.

just about every machine will run into this.....

about the only place food/slime will build up is right at the bottom of the door, where it goes into the tub as you close the door....its one area that doesn't always get flushed enough....

never hurts every now and then to take a scrungy sponge or toothbrush and run it along that area....

I just checked mine today, it looked clean, until I ran my fingers underneath and pulled out the grunge...

Put My WP PC DW To A Test This Morning.

Made a healthy turkey meatloaf last week with a tomato sauce on it, Speed baked it in a 400F oven using medium MW power for approximately 20 minutes.

The empty Corningware baking dish sat out on the counter top all weekend.

Loaded it in the 1987 WP DU8000XR DW and for the first time in at least 10 years actually pushed the Pot & Pans button since this was really hard and crusty. Started the DW at 830AM opened the door around 850AM just after the first drain and checked the pan, closed the door and let the cycle finish, All with no polluting phosphates.

It is amazing how well detergents work today, especially in these older dishwashers that move a lot of water. Having had the same machine through the experience of the removal of phosphates from detergents to today's formulations it is clear that current detergents just work. I never have anything come out of the dishwasher that isn't completely clean.

I dabbled with adding STPP for a while to the DW and laundry, can't say that it ever made a noticeable difference in cleaning. Granted I have good soft water.
