Looking through a 1919 book there were a few upright style vacs avalible at that time,while modern-ish "clean fan" vacs seem to have been avalible by 1935? I still sometimes see 1950s vacs at 2nd hand stores,but have seen a ~ 1920 one only once-at a rummage sale about 1978.
