I decided to host a wash-in on Saturday, Jan 30, because RedCarpetDrew is coming down this way from Reno. I figured what better time to have one, right?

So since this IS a wash-in, it's pretty safe to assume people will be bringing laundry to wash. That's great, but I only have (had) connections for only ONE dryer and we can't have laundry piled up waiting to be dried, can we?

No we can't!

So yesterday a friend of mine came over and we spent the better part of the day running two 220v lines and one gas line to my garage! I only have room for 3 dryers to be connected, but NOW, I can have either 2 electric and one gas, OR 2 gas and one electric dryers connected and useable! YAY!

Sorry I don't have any photos yet, but I just wanted to share!

Anyone else in (or out of) Southern California want to attend? Just send me an e-mail! [email protected]

Brainstorming and Tech Savvy

THATS OUR KEVIN!!!

We wouldn't expect anything less of you, LoL. ...

Amazing what "we" can do when we put our minds to the challenge, and take that first step; Ha Ha!! YAY!!!

Hi Kevin

Now I have to ask you...

Do the Dryers have Lighted Controls too ???

If you change the Bulbs to UVs, You can have a Tan In too. LOL

That's fantastic you now have the Dryers ready too.

Wish I could make it. Have a Great Time All. Eddie

Don't forget the Sunglasses !!!

Dear Kevin,

Thank you for installing more power lines. Should you desire to install even more, we won't mind!

I'd drive down from East Bay...

But probably can't get the time off and don't have enough vacation days saved up as yet. Also just came down with first cold of the winter... no fun just yet.

But it sounds great. Since it's LA, why not put up a clothesline as well to handle the overflow? After all, we all know that song that tells us it never rains in Southern California. But it's raining up here, now.

Another one of my personal favorites....

Yes... that is a pretty AWESOME shot, isn't it? My artistic side was trying to "shine" through when I set up and took that shot. :-) Besides, that was ALL the Maytags... the shot I posted is just the "dryer wall"

I no longer have that many Maytags... but I can eventually set up a lighted "collection" shot after the wash-in.

BTW Dan... I sent you an invite (Evite)... did you receive it??

Kevin

but I can eventually set up a lighted "collection"

Are you sure you'll >tolerate< having a green GE lit set in that light colored collection? LOL!

Wish I could go. I'm going to be on a short leash from the house for the next couple of months (no, not with anything around my ankle).

Have fun everybody, and I'm looking forward to pictures.

Gee Darren.............

NOW I won't HAVE to post any pix of the wash-in... you posted them all!

:-(

Kidding! LOL

Yes that little green Kenmore portable, or "mud washer" as I called it (for obvious reasons), was really neat! Gordon was absolutely amazed that it washed and spun. Of course since it was missing the "wig-wag" I had to "shift it" in and out of agitate and spin manually.

Unfortunately though, once I dissasembled it further I discovered it was was just too far gone to save. The spin tube was rusted and broke off when I pulled the wash basket out. The wash basket was SOOO rusted around the base of the center tube where it attaches, that it flexed and broke more, thus could not be used. There were other issues too, but ultimately, and unfortunately I had to let it go to appliance heaven.

Fortunately I have other machines that are in better condition and can be be brought back to excellence more easily.

There will be pictures aplenty!

No worries there. I just so happen to have a few machines that I forgot to unload off of Jeri before we made the trip. Ssooooo, I guess we'll just have to play with them, then. You should see her. We look like something out of Sanford and Son... I will be posting pictures after all the dust settles.

PICTURES PICTURES PICTURES, please. and not just the machines, but of the attendees too having fun and just hangin out. Thank you!!!

Arrived at The Ritz Kevin...

Beautiful house!!! Then I got to see where we're gonna have the wash in. WOW! I could spend hours if not days experimenting with the collection. The little Westinghouse coin op is something I could really have fun with. There will be plenty of machines, food and fun for all. Not the least is the 1-18 and green GE sets I brought over (and that cute little GE portable washer). I suspect We all (errrr... Kevin) will be giving those a run. Don't worry. There will be pictures of all the fun for the rest of you to enjoy...
