I remember those; supposed to be easier to clean or something. I knew someone who had one but never saw it used.

I remember these! They faded away, then a Sunbeam version resufaced in the early 90s.  I got one of those and still have it - they work well and although they take a bit of effort to keep clean, they are good perfomers.
