Holy freakin' CRAP, kids! The price of an album at iTunes jumped from $9.99-$10.99 to a whiplash-inducing $16.99-$17.99 almost overnight. That's insane. I purchased 2 albums on Sunday (Bauhaus and Pere Ubu) and prices were still low. This morning....they're through the roof.

I was feeling bad about spending a ton o' money there over the summer buying whatever caught my fancy. Now I'm glad I did!

I understand that prices must go up, but I would expect that to happen incrementally.

iTunes: B-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o!! You SUCK!!

Well, the music companies have been pressuring Apple to raise their prices, but I though that they wouldn't do it. How many songs are on the album anyway? The more songs, like 17-18, the higher the prices. A 12 song album is still $9.99 in Canada.

OK, this is weird. I'm at work and just went to iTunes---all the prices are back down to normal.

I must have caught some weird anomoly. Why would that be?

At any rate, I recind my epithets.

Did anyone else notice something weird happen? Maybe I'm in the twilight zone.

Due to a software problem, my iTunes program shifted itself to the Australian store, hence the different prices. It also shifted itself to the French store later this morning. I've updated to 7.0.2 and it seems to have stabilized itself on the good ol' United States store.

Whew! I'm glad there's an explanation, at any rate.

It is funny you mention this - I checked my iTunes store tonight as well, and found that it had defaulted my account to the Japan Store. I figured the 7.0.2 upgrade would have taken care of it - nope. After I attempted to log in, it forced me back to the US store and allowed me to read the home page again. After all of that, I noticed a new drop down menu at the bottom of the home page - pick your country.

Thanks Steve ~ lol
