This is my first time posting and I have followed this wonderful site for years! Thanks Robert! You are Awesome! I have purchased this vintage coffee pot and it has leaked once. I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem. The one in the picture is not the one I bought but it is just like it. I was wondering if I had done something wrong?
Thanks for any help and comments.
Jimmy

Jimmy, this looks like quite the cool coffee pot. While I can't give you any pointers on the leak issue, I thought I'd congratulate you on your find. Today I purchased a new-in-the-box Hamilton Beach/Scovill under-the-cabinet coffee pot from 1984 at the local Goodwill. Upon unpacking it, there was a patriotic little sticker on the front of the unit saying, "Made in U.S.A. Buy American." Boy, how things were made so much better back then by Americans, for Americans!

Jimmy I would guess that the problem is with the rubber seal at the bottom where the center of the glass pot sits. Make sure there is nothing under it. You might also try sliding something under it and carefully pulling up a bit on the rubber. It might not be making a tight enough seal. Just a though.
