Talking Tania and her myriad of vacuum togs...

Pete,
You will definately meet Miss Tania---she is always a shining star at the conventions. I think my VCCC colleagues will agree. As to her wardrobe? She does have a knack for matching with the vacuums, espically Kirby Dual 80's and pink GE Swivel Tops.

Will you be traveling on the Atchison Topeka or the Santa Fe?

Hey Pete...

I'm part of a club here in St. Louis that puts on a fundraising show each year. At the end of our show, we sing "Meet Me In St. Louis" as the closing number. (and to let the party begin!) So I know the lyrics.

Whattya say we continually serenade Charlie with it until the secrets of mirror-like finishes are in our rightfully deserving posession????

I'll start...cough cough...ahem...hmmm...

When Louis came home to the flat,
He hung up his coat and his hat,
He gazed all around, but no wifey he found,
So he said "where can Flossie be at?"
A note on the table he spied,
He read it just once, then he cried.
It ran, "Louis dear, it's too slow for for me hear,
So I think I will go for a ride."

"Meet me in St. Louis, Louis,
Meet me at the fair,
Don't tell me the lights are shining
any place but there;
We will dance the Hoochee Koochee,
I will be your tootsie wootsie,
If you will meet in St. Louis, Louis,
Meet me at the fair."

The dresses that hung in the hall,
Were gone, she had taken them all;
She took all his rings and the rest of his things;
The picture he missed from the wall.
"What! moving!" the janitor said,
"Your rent is paid three months ahead."
"What good is the flat?" said poor Louis, "Read that."
And the janitor smiled as he read.

and so on and so forth and so on....

I don't know about the singing part, liquor is generally quicker as a means to an end I find.
Charlie, with any luck at work I'll be able to reroute one of their empty box cars to travel down in, bit early yet. Train travel always makes my heartbeat zing.

Don't worry about being on key....

...we WANT it to be horrendous, Pete! Toture! As I see it, by the first chorus, Charlie should be breaking into a cold sweat. By the second chorus, I expect then to hear, between the cries to stop, a full and complete confession of taking out Bambi's mother. Third chorus should result in delivery of the required information into our hands.

I'm telling yah, opening this thread and seeing those four gorgeous works of cast-aluminum art grinning at me is just tap dancin' on my nerves with baseball spikes!

I gotta know the secret man, I just gotta know!

:-)

John

P.S. I do hope by now the denizens of this site know that I have a weird sense of humor! :-)

The Kirby Choir warming up..............

Well, the girls, (I call all my vacuums, "The Girls", or sometimes Darling), are warming up their throaty little fans for you as seen here. Only the Legend II is plastic, the rest durable metal fans.

Now they are breaking into a montage of Judy Garland favorites. I've got to stop reading them these posts!

Oh good heavens no!

Just as I was enjoying that beautiful music, and amiring their graceful, elegant, well-bred stride -- then I see that beautiful Legend II paird off with that..that..that...powerhead THUG!

Call the police and have it removed from the premises at once I say!

Oh the disgrace! Oh the shame! So help me, if it has sullied that Legend in any way...

I can't look. I just can't look!

Hehehehe

John

By the way...

Chris (christfr/st. louis) paid me a very flattering comment. He sees a resemblence between me and a Dual Sanitronic 50! He's also taken up graphic art! See below!

If I only looked as good as that Sanitronic!

I think I'll go over to the Imperial forum, and tell &#3

...to start picking over Chris's collection....just wait'll I get my hands on him! Lemme tell yah, not all the agitators in Applianceville are under porcelain enamel lids with defeated safety switches...some are flat out running loose!

:-)

Chris in St. Louis

John,
Is the Chris in St. Louis a member of the VCCC? We have a Chris in St. Louis that is a member and could it possibly be the same person?

Tell me about the Imperial forum............I used to have a 1969 LeBaron Coupe that was one hell of car.

By the way...

...Chris told me about the VCCC and the St. Louis convention.

I wonder if he would be interested though -- I know he has at least a couple of vintage [aristocratic sniff] Hoovers.

:-)

Hi Charlie, I loved seeing all your "girls" on parade. What a neat idea using the Airway power nozzle on the Legend II I bet that it did a fantastic job of cleaning. Better keep that idea under wrap before Kirby sees it. Terry

Charlie, great Kirby parade!! I'm still in awe over how shiny they are!!

Love the Rugmaster with the Legend...I tried a Hoover Powermatic 950 with the Convertible and Quik-Broom, and it picked up a decent amount. With the friction-fit machines, I had an Electrolux Omni-Flo coupled to a few.

In case anyone who wants to do this doesn't know, NuTone (and maybe a few others) has a special cord for central vacuums (used with the non-electric hose) that allows you to power a P/N from a wall outlet...the possibilities are endless! It comes with wand clips as well.
