Psssst

Thanks L but I will hold I am determined to get something I will be happy with. If this one was somewhat bigger I would go for it. I was so disappointed with my visit to Malber today as I spoke about. I was hoping the P28 to be better. Oh well thats Life.

Pete,

I hate to say it, but anything by Merloni is going to have you wishing for that LG...
Over here, they are rated even worse than Whirlpool/Bauknecht.
Look, maybe you should try another approach. Aren't there any H-axis washers in the US? That would give you space for both washer and dryer.

Oh I Don't Know About That

My Merloni/COPA built Malber gave the better part of 8 years of service with no problems. Only gave it the heave when the Miele came along. Oh that and there were problems with the fill valve, a minor thing which could have been easily fixed. Gave the Malber away and far as one knows it still is jugging away.

Mind you my Malber was from a different Merloni than that is today. IIRC there are several Merloni brothers, all owing appliance factories.

I can only say it again - Peter - if you really want a FL then buy MIELE! Stack them together as you have the space and you have two machines (Miele front-loader and condense-dryer) that can run independently and can do two loads the same time! It is REAL GOOD GERMAN QUALITY! (the only left over from once so many here... good ol'times!!)

Pete, Miele DOES offer an 110v washing machine. The new 4000 series have been on sale in the states for several months now. Features include a larger capacity and a heater that works in all cycles. Dryers however still require 220v power, though their is a gas version, which IIRC runs on 110v for power.
