After reading questions about how well Purex complete rinsed at higher temps I decided to see. So today I did my heavily soiled white load at 140F. The load consisted of white under wear, white and grey cotton sport socks(some worn without shoes), cotton running socks, and a set of white cotton towels. I have a smaller Fl so I used the recommended amount of detergent for normal soiled loads even though this load was dirty. I did not use any other additive but I used Vernal hibiscus and rose fabric softener in the last rinse. As far as I see everything came clean. No remaining pecker tracks, no skid marks, no ground in dirt in the socks. This stuff is advertised as cleaning tomato, chocolate, and even grass stains and as, tough on stains and costing far less than the leading brand. I didn’t give it these stains so I don’t know, but I wonder if Henkle has hit on something with this new version of Purex. Still would like to have it in powder form. - probably not going to happen.

Pictures of the suds will follow.

Suds cooling

When you select a temperature over 120F, two minutes before the wash ends cold water begins to run into the tub to cool down the suds. Here is a picture of that at a tumble pause.

When I saw the level of suds I wondered if I used too little detergent. Looks like it wouldn't have mattered too much if I had added a little more.

I had a sample arrive in the mail and used it on two loads and found it performed very good and it looks like P&G may have some competition coming their way with the price of every thing going through the roof, Purex could be the new liquid for many families on tight budgets, who knows ??

Approve so far

I just picked up a bottle myself with a $1.00 off coupon. I love the scent of this detergent and it seems to do very well. I was in the mood to pick up some Henkel products that day so I got a bottle of the Purex with Zout, a bottle of Purex fabric softener, and a bottle of Zout stain spray for $11.

I had gotten lazy and threw a few of my new yellow kitchen towels and dish rags in the hamper and forgot about them for a few days too long. When I went to wash them, a couple of them had black mold growing on them. I ran the entire load through my Miele W3033 at 70C, but the mold stains did not come out of the kitchen towel and dish rag. I used the Zout on it and then ran them through again at 70C and everything came clean. Good stuff for the price!

No oversudsing either in the washer.

The name of this detergent is Purex Complete with Zout Triple Enzyme Stain Remover. The lower right corner of the bottle says For ALL MACHINES including he. I have the fresh morning burst scent. Smells good and not over powering but I didn't smell it in the clothes when the load was finished maybe because the Vernel fs was in the last rinse. The bottle is dark blue with a red cap.

I've tried regular Purex complete he and it did ok but was a little foamy and could have cleaned better( not sure it had all the enzymes), but I was afraid to increase the dose for fear of ending up with out of control suds. This version cleans well and seems to keep suds suppressed. I am going to try it on my next 120F heavily soiled white load and use a little more just to see how that works as well.

Like most liquid detergents they advise you to use a little to pre treat stains. I usually never do that because I have Zout foam spray which is cleaner than messing with the liquid in the cap and pouring it on the stain and getting it all over my hands and everyplace else.

I can see folks who don't want to spend a lot of money on detergent using and really liking this because it cleans and rinses well.

I saw both the scented and free version on promotion at my local grocery store so bought both. They seem to clean well.

roscoe62, I saw them advertising that they are now the #2 brand in Canada (Purex).

I think I like it better than Tide. Items seem to be quite soft when washed with it.

I still really like Clorox Greenworks as well.

I did try both. Not sure I love the scent either (but I'm really picky).

I have a tendency to mix scented with unscented to achieve a scent level I can tolerate. Of course, you have to somewhat like the scent for this to work. Some scents are less offensive when they are not so strong.

It seemed to work the same. I would assume the only difference is no added fragrances or dyes.
