hotpoint 95622
Ho, I going to start rambling about my memories of my liberator before it was sent to Coventry in a skip.
I adopted my 1828-02 from my auntie on my dad’s side, when I was about 13; she had just bought a new 95 series machine so I begged it off her. The bearings where like driving down a main road around here, full of potholes you see, the hot water valve did not work and the timer used to stick between 4 and 6. So I striped it down fixed all the problems including one which dogged it from new, there is a micro switch at the top of the powder draw, ever time the machine spun the draw would jiggle out and release the micro switch which would isolate the water valves and stop the machine after each rinse, I by passed it. Auntie asked for it back about 3 months later when she visited, of course you cant was my reply. She went on that the new machine was not as good, tough luck.
Then it disappeared on the back of a skip lorry one day.
Ramblings over.
Paul, is there a little nib in the centre of the soap draw which engages into the centre empty screw hole in the top row of fixings in the facia, I can see the hole, wondered if Hotpoint stopped using this safety feature as it was problematic in the early machines.
Mine also had a black rubber drain hose.
She looking better every day.
