Put a new stove on lay away at Sears!!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

This range looks similar to the Maytag I bought for my aunt and uncle back in July. Theres has this newfangled "self-clean" cycle where you have to pour water (distilled) into the oven cavity so you can "steam" the oven soil away. I'm assuming that it just loosens the greasy, grimie soil so you can wipe it off?? I'm sorry but I would rather wipe off dried up ashes then smear grease OR just use Easy Off .GE s version at least gives you the option of P7 OR steam cleaning. I think, again, another way of pushing on energy conservation on kitchen appliances is being absolutely misrepresented.Pyrolitic self cleaning ovens usually have more insolation which saves energy during regular use by keeping the oven temperature longer then the manual clean or the oder "continuous clean" models.

As far as the every day use is concerned, the Whirlpool electric smooth top ranges are great! The one I have is already ten years old nd all I have done is replaced the light switch and light bulbs. The oven cavity is enormous and I can bake eight loaves of bread in one sitting.Very even heat distribution and a ten minute countdown for preheating the oven.

Thanks for the good wishes, this one is a standard self clean oven without the Steam Clean feature.

Consumer Reports rates it Very Good. High cooktop speed and evenness of baking get very good marks. Simmering ability and self-cleaning receive excellent scores. Broiling was the weak spot with only a fair rating. I don't broil in the oven, so that wouldn't matter to me. Whirlpool gets a top-notch reliability score as well. Sounds like you've snagged a solid performer!

Not to be mean.. but Sears is offering 15% off Appliances during there "Friends & Family" sale right now.

I'm honestly really considering a new Bosch Dishwasher..

Mich,

I know they are always having sales, I wanted to get it for a good price, and the salesman said if you open a Sears card, or even apply for it, I will get you 15% off, so that turned out to be another $75 dollars, which sealed the deal for me.
Thanks for the info aobut friends and family though, and good luck with your purchase.

Nice stove! You should enjoy years of good service! My wife and I bought 2 new Samsung HD televisions at Sears on April 27th. A 40" for the den and a 32" for the bedroom. We tried the new lease program Sears is offering. Five equal payments and they're paid for! A pesky little bankruptcy back in 2003 prohibits us from getting a Sears card. We ended up having to let DirecTV come out and change us over to HDTV last Monday. The pictures on both televisions are great, we got more channels with HDTV, whole home Genie, and DirectTV On Demand. We bundled our telephone and internet and saved a nice litle sum each month over what we had been paying!

The Kenmore Elite wall oven my wife has been drooling over was on sale 50% off that weekend. We almost bought it to put in storage until we redo the kitchen soon. The salesman said every spring and fall for the past few years Sears puts their wall ovens and cooktops on sale 50% off. We will be watching this fall. We can lease to own this oven and cooktop too.

Jim,

that was the sale they were having when I bought my stove. I too, have credit problems due to a pesky divorce, but I like the lay-away program alot. Besides the stove was on sale for a great price anyway! The salesman said just apply, and I will get you the 15%, so I said OK!! I used to work at MACYS and these stores love when customers open up a charge account, or at least try to!

Good deal Mike!

We were actually going to Sears that day to put the televisions on layaway and maybe pick up a small television for the bedroom at Goodwill. The television in the bedroom was a Sony and was 20+ years old and the screen went all pink then died. The RCA in the den was on it's last legs also! We did not know Sears had a lease program until that day. Way too tempting. Hum...that's why my wife manages our finances since 2003! Life would be easier with good credit but not as challenging or "adventurous!" We have a Whirlpool AccuBake we've had since 1997 and it has performed flawlessly with no issues. Yours should hopefully perform as well. My wife wants new cabinets and a wall oven. So...if Mama ain't happy ain't nobody happy! Jim
