I just go this KA agitator and it smells like it lived with a chain smoker...how to get it clean?...take out the top rack and pit it in the KUDS23!!

That will definetly do the job--the dishwasher works great for "smokey" vacuum cleaner parts,too!

Wow! Smoke gets into agitators? I would think that with all the soap and water used odors would be washed off.

I did that once with the fabric softener dispenser from my Kenmore washer. Alas, at that time I only had the kitchen dishwasher, not multiple dishwashers. It left a waxy film all over the inside of the dishwasher and it took running it through several empty cycles to get rid of it.

Now, thank goodness, I have dishwashers for multiple purposes and this won't be such an issue next time.
