Question about additional washer hook up.

I want to get a second washer and want to make sure that I can connect two washers, my current one and a new one to my existing spigots by using a Y connector. Would that affect fill time in any way assuming I only fill one machine at a time. Draining is not an issue, I have a slop sink and also, can I plug both washers into the same outlet? This outlet is specifically for the washer to begin with. Will I be able to run both washers at the same time on the outlet?

Additional Washer Hook-Up

I have two washers that share a 'Y' spigot, and if you only fill one at a time it doesn't affect the fill time. I usually run the two of them at the same time, however if one is filling and the other is doing a spray rinse (these are Kenmore's) the pressure on the spray rinse will not be as strong. As far as plugging in both washers to the same outlet, I have mine plugged in to separate 20 AMP circuits. Each washer that I have is rated for 10AMPS, so if yours are also maybe it's not a good idea to put both on the same circuit. I'm not an electrical expert but in my area the code states one washer is supposed to have a dedicated 20AMP circuit.

I have four front load washers connected, they all use the same water supply line and while there are two sets of electrical outlets, they are all on the same circuit. Honestly I don't know at this moment how many amps the breaker is, it's more than likely a 20 Amp circuit. I have all four running at the same time regularly and never have a problem.

 

I have also had four vintage top load washers connected and running at the same time. As long as the motors for each washer don't start at the exact same moment, it's not been a problem. The one "wrench" in the works however is when I also have the 1955 Unimatic connected. It's usually no problem, but if the other three vintage machines are running and the Unimatic does into spin, that WILL pop the breaker.
