Help Support :

Mark: THANK YOU for all the chronological Maytag color information, that is awesome and I really appreciate it!

I have NEVER seen a washer or dryer in that Pastel Green color.   Does anyone here have one???

Pat: Thank you......... for all the GE and Frigidaire color info.

Vern (and Ralph): Here it is from 3 1/2 years ago: http://www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?26327

"But by the introduction of the Washpower Automatics in 1966 this was the color scheme:"

Do you have any idea how incomplete my life feels without finding a Turquoise 906 pair? ;)

Turquoise, went to the commercial stable of appliance color.  Speed queen had Turq. washers in the 1970's as well as the apple green color, white and orange. alr

Sandy, I'm guessing that there may have been a few Turquoise 906s made.

Actually, all you would have to do is get a set of operational 906 control panels, sneak into Don's basement some night and PRESTO! A pair of Turquoise 906s!

Question to members on Pat Coffey's links

Another too good to miss thread, thank you Kevin, Mark, and Pat.

But, did anyone beside me, find that Pat's work(links) do not work?

I'll try using Firefox, but I've never found a problem within aw.org.

Thanks.

WHILE COLORS ARE BEING DISCUSSED....

I just wanted to throw a reminder out that I'm
still looking for a Washer & Dryer, 1963 or
Earlier, in Light Yellow or a Turquoise Set.

I have a set of White Maytags A702S & DE700.

I'd really appreciate knowing if anyone comes
across a pair for sale, or is looking to part
with a set.

Thanks All.

Louis

Great information on the availability of colors...

Philco offered dash (control) panels on their ranges in colors in the mid-50s. The stove was white, but there was a panel of color on the control panel.

Thanks Mark and Pat for that very interesting history of colors!

Don actually left me alone in his house last June... Of course, Hubby was with me so sneaking anything into the car was impossible, alas. But, wow, that 'Tag set of his is FAB!

You know, the possible implication of this remark just dawned on me!

Are you saying that if, by some wildest chance, I found 906 control panels, they'd transfer over to the 806 pair? As in plug-and-play?

Hmm. HMMMM.

Sandy, yup it really is that simple.  The rest of the machine was identical.  What year is your 806?  If it's post-Nov. 1967 then the only difference was the panel design and timer.  Between Jan. 1966 and Nov. 1967 the machines used different unbalance mechanisms.  That problem has several relatively simple solutions.

Upon searching for a panel for a 1990 Whirlpool washer on searspartsdirect, I found the color codes listed for that part but there was one listed there which I still can't figure out what it meant!

I already understood that W = White, AL = Almond, TO = Toast and PL = platinum. But then it showed another color code "NG" which either is some sort of prototype color? Or does it just essentially mean "N/A"? I didn't think there were ever any direct drives made in any sort of green color?
