You're questions are pertinent. In fact, the topics of power factor, sine wave topography, and measuring work done by an electrical circuit are extremely important topics for us here.

Personally, I think my reference to sweaty horses, perspiring me and, -er, glowing ladies ended up being a double entendre of the best kind...unintended.

Obviously, there are inverters out there which produce pretty sine waves and have their harmonics under control...I have seen carnivals where microwaves were being used and carnies do not waste their money on anything. Ever. So it is just a question of how much money one wishes to spend.

And yes, trucker's sites also have microwaves so it is doable. But not cheap.
